There are people who love cats and see them as nice and fun company to have at home. But for some people, having a cat means a disaster. There are cats that can ruin our homes, scratching on the couches, carpets, and other furniture. This can be very irritating. People do not keep cats inside their homes, but still, they get in contact with them because of the stray cats going inside and eating their foods. Now we can imagine how furious we can be when this happens. The only way to avoid this and keep the cats from going inside our homes is to repel them.

Repelling cats requires a lot of trick and cleverness. If we really want to get rid of them, we have to be very good at it. There are some ways that can help us keep them away, at least techniques that will keep them from coming into our houses.

Some people make the use of the coffee grounds. Studies say that cats do not like the smell of it. If we have coffee makers at home, and we have residues of the coffee grounds, we can keep them instead of throwing them away. By sprinkling them close to our doors and windows, the cats can then smell it, and it will make them think twice or just decide to run away instead of barging in. This is a very good trick to use. Coffee grounds wouldn’t be that much of a hassle if we sprinkle them on the ground, so we would just be fine with the smell, but not the cats.

Another thing we can try is to plant some marigold around our homes. Cats do not like its strong smell. If we plant a couple of them especially near our porches and windows, then we are sure to get rid of them in a long time. Flower beds can also be a good idea for cat repelling. The smell of the flower is something that cats really hate. Try planting some in your yard, and it will not just beautify our homes; we will also be free from visiting stray cats.

Water is a good tool to scare away cats. If we see one that gets near our property, we better get the spray immediately and spray them. The more we scare them the lesser they will keep on coming back. We just have to make sure that we do not just sprinkle water in them but spray them hard. Cats will stay away from something they don’t like and one of them is water.

If we have tried the above methods and still nothing seems to work, then the only way to do it is to get a dog. Cats will stay away from our homes if they see a dog on guard. It is actually the best way to get rid of them
